Adafruit BME280 I2C or SPI Temperature Humidity Pressure Sensor

Description Links

Bosch's BME280 sensor offers comprehensive environmental sensing with temperature, barometric pressure, and humidity capabilities. Ideal for indoor applications, it supports both I2C and SPI interfaces.

This sensor delivers impressive precision, measuring humidity with ±3% accuracy, pressure with ±1 hPa absolute accuracy, and temperature with ±1.0°C accuracy. Its precise pressure readings enable its use as an altimeter, achieving ±1 meter or better accuracy.

An evolution from previous models, the BME280 maintains low altitude noise at 0.25m and rapid conversion times. It supports both I2C for simple wiring and SPI to avoid address collisions when connecting multiple sensors.

The sensor is mounted on a custom PCB with a 3.3V regulator and level shifting to work seamlessly with both 3V and 5V logic microcontrollers. Featuring the STEMMA QT form factor, it creates easy, solderless connections to boards and other components compatible with SparkFun Qwiic I2C connectors.

Resources such as a detailed tutorial, Arduino & CircuitPython example code, wiring diagrams, and schematics ensure a fast setup, getting you operational in just 10 minutes.
