The Adafruit Sound Board brings an effortless, compact solution for adding audio effects to any project without an Arduino or other microcontroller. Designed to be standalone, it requires only a 3 to 5.5VDC battery, making it portable and straightforward.
This sound board measures a diminutive 1.9" x 0.85" and comes with built-in 2MB storage, enabling several minutes of compressed stereo audio. For greater capacity, a 16MB version is available. It supports both compressed Ogg Vorbis and uncompressed WAV files, offering high-quality 44.1KHz 16-bit stereo sound.
With 11 trigger connections, you can easily play audio by simply connecting buttons or switches. The board also features five distinct trigger effects by simply renaming files, covering various audio play needs from basic triggers to random play orders.
Designed for ease, the sound board uses a micro USB for simple file transfers, functioning like a USB drive. While it lacks polyphonic capabilities or MP3 playback, its simplicity makes it perfect for props, costumes, or other small projects requiring quick audio integration.
Compatible with headphones and powered speakers, the board also comes with stereo line out options, and an optional onboard stereo speaker amplifier ensures your sound projects are as immersive as they are clear.
