Adafruit 2.0" 320x240 Color IPS TFT Display with microSD Card Breakout

This beautiful IPS display breakout is perfect for adding a vibrant, small-scale display to any project, with excellent visibility from any angle. The display uses a 4-wire SPI interface and has a pixel-addressable frame buffer, making it compatible with any microcontroller, even those with limited memory and pins.

With a 2.0" screen boasting 320x240 color pixels, this display offers true TFT performance, unlike low-cost CSTN alternatives. The IPS technology ensures vivid colors and high-angle visibility. The ST7789 driver supports full 18-bit color display, providing 262,144 shades, though 16-bit color is commonly used for most applications.

The breakout board comes with the TFT display pre-soldered via a delicate flex-circuit connector. An integrated ultra-low-dropout 3.3V regulator, auto-reset circuitry, and 3/5V level shifter allow compatibility with both 3.3V and 5V power and logic. A microSD card holder is included for easy loading of full-color bitmaps from a FAT16/FAT32 formatted microSD card.

A comprehensive open-source graphics library is available, capable of drawing pixels, lines, rectangles, circles, text, and bitmaps. The library is designed for Arduino but can be adapted to other microcontrollers. For optimal performance, using the hardware SPI pins is recommended.

As of February 2023, the breakout now features an 18-pin "EYESPI" standard FPC connector. This allows for connection using an 18-pin 0.5mm pitch FPC cable, facilitating SPI and I2C connectivity without the need for header soldering.
