For microcontrollers lacking an analog-to-digital converter or when seeking higher precision, the ADS1015 offers 12-bit accuracy at 3300 samples per second via I2C. This versatile chip supports 4 single-ended input channels or 2 differential channels.
Features include a programmable gain amplifier reaching up to x16, facilitating the enhancement of smaller signals to utilize the full range. The chip operates from 2V to 5V power/logic, enabling measurement of varied signal ranges effortlessly.
The ADS1015 is designed with a small footprint and is available on a breakout board, equipped with ferrites to maintain low noise levels on AVDD and AGND. Its address can be configured to four options, allowing up to four ADS1015 units to connect on a single I2C bus, providing 16 single-ended inputs. The package includes a 0.1" standard header suitable for use with breadboards or perfboards, alongside four mounting holes for convenient attachment.
Built in the STEMMA QT form factor, the ADS1015 ensures seamless connection to various projects. The STEMMA QT connectors are compatible with SparkFun Qwiic I2C connectors, facilitating solderless connections or chaining with multiple sensors and accessories using a compatible cable. However, a QT Cable is not included but available separately.
