The Teensy 4 Audio Shield (Rev D) is a powerful addition to a Teensy 4.0, designed to enhance your audio projects. This shield offers high-quality 16 bit, 44.1 kHz sample rate audio. With the audio library available on the Documents tab, it allows simultaneous use of both input and output, enabling you to create diverse audio projects. It enables you to incorporate synth waveforms, effects, mix multiple sound streams, and deliver CD quality audio to your headphones or line outs. The shield operates with the SGTL5000 stereo codec with headphone amp IC to decode and drive audio files. It also uses Cortex-M4 DSP instructions from the Teensy dev board to power a real-time FFT. The board comes with a 3.5mm audio jack for headphones, a micro-SD card slot for storing audio files, and optional spaces for a 25k potentiometer for volume control, and a flash memory chip. The board does not include two rows of 14x1 headers, offering you the flexibility to decide how to connect your audio board with your Teensy. Please note that to get your Teensy Audio Shield operational, you will also need to purchase a Teensy 4.0.
