A strain gauge is a precision electronic sensor engineered to accurately measure force or strain. Crafted with an insulating flexible backing and a metallic foil pattern, its resistance alters when force is exerted, providing a different electrical output.
In this model, the strain gauge is securely affixed to a robust aluminum base using epoxy, enhancing durability by preventing damage and limiting excessive movement. With strategically placed mounting holes, one side can be anchored to a stable surface, ensuring optimal performance.
The strain gauge operates by applying weight according to marked directions, either by gravitational force or tension. Resistance variance is captured with tools like a precision ADC or Wheatstone bridge, ideal for projects needing precise pressure and tension measurements.
Important specifications: This load cell does not include an ADC or converter and must be calibrated post-installation using known weights. Available in 20 Kg capacity, with options for smaller weights such as 1 Kg, 5 Kg, and 10 Kg. It's recommended to select a gauge with twice the capacity you intend to measure for enhanced precision and optimal range.
