These hinged momentary step switches capture the essence of the 16-step sequencer keys found on iconic TR-808 synthesizers. Often employed in A/V equipment, they feature a satisfyingly tactile and clicky response.
The integrated red LED serves as a reliable indicator for on/off states, providing visual feedback upon activation. Designed with four legs, the switches offer enhanced mechanical stability.
The momentary SPDT type switch uses two of its four pins as common. It connects to one of the other pins when pressed. For accurate pin identification, refer to the included diagram or use a multimeter in continuity mode.
These switches are not compatible with breadboards or perf-boards, requiring either hand-wiring or PCB integration. The embedded 3mm red LED features a 2.1V forward voltage and a 20mA max current. Lacking a built-in resistor, a 1K resistor is recommended to prevent burnout.
PWM dimming from a microcontroller pin or connection to a digital output is possible by selecting an appropriate resistor using our LED guide.
