SparkFun UV Light Sensor Breakout - VEML6075 (Qwiic)

The SparkFun VEML6075 UV Light Sensor Breakout is a cutting-edge ultraviolet sensing solution. This sensor utilizes a straightforward photodiode to gauge the levels of UVA (320-400nm) and UVB (280-320nm) radiation. It enables you to read the intensity of these light types in irradiance, thereby allowing you to calculate the UV Index. The sensor is designed to integrate seamlessly with the Qwiic system, eliminating the need for soldering. Nonetheless, 2.54mm-spaced pins are also included for those who prefer using a breadboard.

This UV Light Sensor Breakout is capable of measuring two spectrum ranges: UVA (365 ±10nm) and UVB (330 ±10nm). It can convert ultraviolet light intensity into digital data for easy reading. The VEML6075 comes with a simple I²C interface, making it an ideal fit for the Qwiic Connect System, without necessitating any voltage translation.

SparkFun has also developed an Arduino library for the VEML6075 Breakout, which allows you to start reading UV sensor data at an accelerated pace.

The SparkFun Qwiic Connect System is a comprehensive ecosystem of I²C sensors, actuators, shields, and cables that enhances the speed and accuracy of prototyping. All Qwiic-enabled boards employ a common 1mm pitch, 4-pin JST connector, minimizing the required PCB space. The polarized connections ensure foolproof hooking up.

The VEML6075 UV Light Sensor Breakout can be automatically detected, scanned, configured, and logged using the OpenLog Artemis datalogger system. This feature eliminates the need for programming, soldering, or setup.
