Adafruit SMT Socket - Wide SOIC-8 (200mil)

This socket is compatible with any SOIC/SOP wide body 8-pin chip measuring 200 mil wide. Installation is straightforward: flip open the latch, insert the chip, and flip down the latch to secure it firmly.

The chip stays in place against gold "fingers" for optimal connectivity. Its bottom footprint aligns with the same SOIC footprint, enabling easy soldering onto existing PCBs, provided there is enough clearance for the socket's body.

Please note that 150 mil wide chips are not supported. This socket is specifically designed for flash chips, making it an ideal choice for such applications.
