These versatile plastic diffused backlights are captivating circles of light, initially designed for use in LCD gauge displays. Each unit consists of a pair of white LEDs encased in a 2.2mm thick semi-circle of acrylic, efficiently diffusing light to ensure near-uniform illumination. The acrylic's unique properties are enhanced by a reflective flat side, directing all light upwards and maximizing brightness.

Easily integrated into various projects, these backlights operate at approximately 3V with a 20mA current. Just add a series resistor to manage maximum current flow. Customize their appearance with vinyl masks or markers, and explore different hues using gel overlays.
