This is a screen for advanced hackers who appreciate a rectangular TFT screen with an abundance of pixels. The 3.2" square display has 320x820 RGB666 16-bit full-color pixels and boasts an IPS display, ensuring vibrant color accuracy up to 80 degrees off-axis in all directions.
The TFT driver, ST7701S, utilizes both SPI and TTL RGB 'dot clock' data. Note that SPI is employed solely for configuring the display; it does not support pixel drawing via SPI. Despite a 40-pin connector, this module deviates from the standard pinout seen in rectangular 800x480 or 480x272 displays.
This unique module demands a powerful microcontroller like the ESP32-S3 with octal PSRAM or a Raspberry Pi, either through direct-DPI connection or an intermediary chip such as the ICN6211. It is not compatible with common microcontrollers unless they support RGB-666 displays. This module excludes a PCB and requires a compatible driver board with the proper pinout for operation.
