Electronics and water typically clash, but the Optomax Digital liquid level switches offer a smart resolution. Crafted for easy use and ultimate durability, these sensors are invaluable in liquid detection projects. Encased within is an infrared LED and a matching phototransistor, which function seamlessly to signal liquid presence or absence.
The infrared light reflects back when the sensor is in open air, indicating dryness. Upon contact with liquid, the light no longer reflects, turning the transistor off. This versatile sensor accurately detects most liquid types, whether oil- or water-based. Insensitive to ambient light, it performs reliably even with foam in air or small bubbles in liquid.
Specifications: Works with a supply voltage range of 4.5 to 15.4VDC, and it features a microcontroller-friendly, push-pull logic level output, capable of sourcing or sinking up to 100mA. Blue/Black wire connects to ground, Red wire to power supply, with output comparable to the red wire when dry and 0V when wet. Caution: even small droplets can activate the sensor.
Constructed with chemically resistant Polysulfone housing and suitable for operating temperatures from -25 to 80°C, these sensors are reverse polarity and ESD protected. Their compact size is perfect for confined spaces and rapid response time ensures prompt detection. Solid-state and wholly enclosed to eliminate reliability issues, they directly control small loads efficiently. Built-in output delays are available for applications with intermittent switching caused by sloshing. Robust design permits use across various fluids and chemicals.
