Measuring just 5mm by 5mm, this tiny but powerful component integrates a bright RGB LED with an onboard driver chip, ensuring a consistent color output with a constant current of approximately 18mA, even during voltage fluctuations.

Designed for simplicity, these LEDs require no external resistors and are powered by 5VDC. Featuring four pins, the chip is similar in shape to its counterparts but offers built-in polarity protection to enhance design reliability. Easily chain multiple LEDs together by connecting the output of one to the input of the next, perfect for creating seamless and expandable light displays.

These LEDs utilize a single data line with a specialized protocol, requiring a real-time microcontroller such as an AVR, Arduino, or PIC for operation. They are not compatible with Linux-based microcomputers or interpreted controllers. The Neopixel library on Arduino provides excellent support, though others may have adapted it for different platforms.

Ideal for hand soldering, these LEDs should be handled with care and are supplied in packs of ten. They are not suitable for automated processes like pick and place.
