The largest NeoPixel Ring available, featuring 60 ultra-bright smart LEDs, each addressable with a built-in driver chip. Each order provides a quarter ring with 15 RGB LEDs—purchase four units and solder them to form a complete ring with a 6.2-inch diameter. Mechanical backing is necessary as solder joints handle only electrical signals.
Chain multiple rings by connecting the output of one to the input of another, controlling them all using just a single microcontroller pin. With ~18mA constant current drive, consistent colors are assured even with variations in voltage. The slim design requires no external choke resistors, operating seamlessly on 5VDC power.
The timing-specific protocol demands a real-time microcontroller, such as an AVR, Arduino, or PIC. Linux-based or interpreted microcomputers like the netduino are incompatible. An 8MHz or faster processor is essential, supported by our detailed Neopixel library for Arduino designed for AVR cores.
