The LilyTiny, a compact LilyPad board from Sparkfun, is the perfect addition to your project if you're looking to incorporate some dazzling functionality without occupying much space. Despite its small size, similar to some LilyPad sensors, the LilyTiny is equipped with an ATtiny microcontroller, making it remarkably intelligent. Simply attach four LEDs and connect a battery, and each LED will exhibit a different light effect - blinking, heartbeat pattern, a "breathing" fade, or a random fade. LilyTiny offers a straightforward solution for incorporating twinkling lights into a project without any programming or a large Main Board. It also serves as an excellent educational tool, demonstrating a variety of functions without the need for computers.
For advanced users who wish to re-program the LilyTiny, the ICSP programming connectors are conveniently broken out on the back.
LilyPad, a wearable e-textile technology, was developed by Leah Buechley and collaboratively designed by Leah and SparkFun. Each LilyPad is ingeniously designed with large connecting pads, allowing them to be sewn into clothing. A variety of input, output, power, and sensor boards are available to suit your needs.
Note: A part of the proceeds from this sale is given back to Dr. Leah Buechley for the continued development and education of e-textiles.
