Solenoids are electromagnets made of a large coil of copper wire with an armature in the center. When energized, the armature is drawn into the coil, enabling the solenoid to either pull or push.
This solenoid features a robust 40mm long body with a captive armature complete with a return spring. When activated with up to 12VDC, it moves efficiently, returning to its original position once the voltage is removed, thanks to the spring mechanism. Unlike many lower-cost solenoids, our model boasts both push and pull capabilities.
Conveniently designed with 4xM3 threaded holes for easy mounting, this solenoid requires a power transistor and a diode for operation. Ideal for use with an Arduino or other microcontrollers, it demands a solid power supply due to a 250mA current draw—making a 9V battery insufficient. Optimally powered by a 12V supply, ensuring reliable performance.
