This 7" TFT display boasts a 1024x600 resolution with audio-over-HDMI capability, making it perfect for embedded computing. Its compact size and affordability are just the beginning of its impressive features.
The display includes a driver board with HDMI, VGA, and Composite inputs, alongside stereo 4 ohm at 3W output speaker driving capability. The user-friendly setup allows for an easy connection of a 9-12VDC adapter to the 2.1mm center-positive DC jack, digital video sources, and two 4 to 8 ohm speakers for audio integration.
While not an IPS display, its direct viewing performance is superb, and it outshines many similar options. A wired PCB with intuitive buttons enables users to access a menu for adjusting brightness, color, and contrast. The display auto-detects inputs or allows manual selection from the menu.
Included is a plug-in cable for connecting to the speaker output pins, labeled LOUT+/- and ROUT+/-. Users can solder speakers to the provided wires for an audio experience.
The display works seamlessly with devices like Raspberry Pi, and other compatible HDMI, VGA, or NTSC/PAL outputs. Note that DVI-only devices require additional converters. With Raspberry Pi, editing the config.txt for native 1024x600 resolution is recommended, while BeagleBone Black users need no extra configuration.
Experience premium display capabilities with ease, though remember a power adapter is not included. Repurpose an existing 5-12VDC adapter to power your device.
