Adafruit EL wire 2xAA pocket inverter

A small, portable inverter for EL wire powers off of 2 AA batteries (not included) and can drive 1 to 8 feet (about 2.5m) of high-brightness EL wire for up to 10 hours. It features a button for selecting steady, blink, or off modes, offering versatility for different lighting needs.

The inverter comes with a 2.5mm pitch female JST connector for easy connection. Ensure at least 1 ft of EL wire is attached for proper function, or risk damaging the inverter with voltage spikes. For quieter operation, open the case and pad it with thick foam tape or weatherstripping. Adding hot glue around the capacitors can further minimize noise.

A removable clip on the back provides flexibility for attachment. This inverter was used to create our impressive TRON bag. Although soldering to EL wire may seem tricky, detailed step-by-step instructions are available to simplify the process.
