Add high-quality motion, direction, and orientation sensing to your Arduino project with this all-in-one 9 Degree of Freedom (9-DoF) sensor using components from ST. This compact breakout contains the LSM6DSOX 6-DoF IMU accelerometer/gyro and the LIS3MDL 3-axis magnetometer, combining to offer 9 degrees of detailed motion data.
The LSM6DSOX provides a range of data rates and ranges for the accelerometer: ±2/±4/±8/±16g at update rates between 1.6 Hz to 6.7KHz, and for the gyroscope: ±125/±250/±500/±1000/±2000 dps at 12.5 Hz to 6.7 kHz. It excels at reducing gyro drift and noise, making it ideal for orientation fusion tasks.
Additional features include tap detection, activity detection, a pedometer/step counter, and a programmable machine learning core. The LIS3MDL magnetometer enhances functionality by detecting magnetic north. Together, these sensors deliver advanced direction and motion capabilities.
The board is equipped with voltage regulation and level-shifted inputs, suitable for 3V or 5V power/logic devices. It offers a simplified interface through I2C and exposed interrupt pins, with SparkFun Qwiic compatible STEMMA QT connectors simplifying setup. The package includes headers for breadboard use and four mounting holes for secure attachment.
Easily connect it with various microcontrollers such as the STM32F405 Feather using a plug-and-play cable. You can modify I2C addresses via solder jumpers for additional configuration flexibility. Libraries for Arduino/C++ integration are readily available to facilitate quick setup and usage.
