The Chumby Hacker Board is a powerful single board Linux computer designed for those with Linux experience. Equipped with much of the same hardware as the Chumby One, it delivers microcomputer capabilities with audio and video output alongside microcontroller peripherals like analog-to-digital conversion, PWM outputs, and broken-out GPIOs.
Featuring a Freescale iMX.233 processor at 454 MHz and 64 MB onboard RAM, this compact board comes with a 1 GB uSD card pre-installed with Linux. It’s perfect for interacting with sensors and motor drivers through its 3.3V I/O pins, and its onboard 5V boost converter and low-power, fanless CPU make it ideal for portable projects.
The board has three USB ports, an LCD controller, and a 3.5mm A/V jack for stereo audio and video output. It also includes an MMA7455 accelerometer, microphone input, and supports quadrature encoder connections, all running on 3.3v logic. Additional features include a built-in Lithium Ion/Polymer battery charger and a 5-way joystick for enhanced interactivity.
Complemented by a full GCC toolchain and accessible resources, this is a versatile platform for those ready to delve into projects requiring more advanced computing capabilities. Please note that while forums and a wiki are available for information, the CHB is not officially supported by Chumby Industries.
