Analog panel meters are not as eye-catching as LEDs but offer a timeless elegance and are easier to read at a glance. This model is relatively large and features a front panel that can be easily opened by undoing just two screws, allowing quick replacement of the gauge.
It includes a convenient 'zero adjust' knob and mounts effortlessly with four 3mm screws, spaced 6.5cm apart, fitting perfectly onto any box or enclosure. Measuring 3.125 inches (8 cm) square and 1.25 inches thick, it has an exposed panel and coil for precision reading.
The meter ranges from 0 to 50uA, making it compatible with any power supply. To use with a digital output microcontroller like an Arduino or AVR, simply connect the black wire to the ground, place a resistor in series with the red wire, and connect to a PWM output. Adjusting the PWM from 0 to 100% will control the meter. For resistor specifications, use (Power Supply Voltage) * 20,000; for example, 100K ohms for a 5V supply or 66K ohms for a 3.3V supply.
