Adafruit NeTV Starter Pack

Get your NeTV on with this comprehensive kit, complete with everything you need to start. It includes the NeTV PCB board, an IR remote, and a NeTV plastic enclosure kit, forming a snug and durable casing.

The enclosure, made from two injection molded halves with a soft rubber anti-slip bottom, is easy to assemble. Simply attach the NeTV with screws, place the antenna, snap the top piece, and finish with the rubber mat.

Inside the package, find a 5V 1A USB power supply, MicroUSB cable, and HDMI cable for seamless connectivity and power. NeTV transforms any HDMI TV into a smart interface with WiFi and Android mobile integration.

Designed by Sutajio Ko-Usagi, NeTV overlays web content on HDMI video feeds using an Angstrom Linux box with Webkit. Overlays include Facebook, Twitter feeds, and SMSes from Android phones.

The UI, crafted in Javascript/HTML, supports easy application development. It features a convenient HTTP API with POST commands for device interaction and integration with networked devices via Bonjour.

NeTV’s FPGA handles video compositing, managed by built-in command-line tools. Modify video processing with Xilinx’s Webkit or repurpose the FPGA with limitless functionality.

Development options: UI & app development in Javascript/HTML, remote control via HTTP API, kernel development with gcc or Amazon EC2, and hardware development via Xilinx Webpack tools and an open-source hardware stack.
