Adafruit AM2302 (wired DHT22) temperature-humidity sensor

Description

The AM2301B, also known as the Wired Enclosed AHT20 Temperature and Humidity Sensor, is an advanced replacement for the discontinued AM2302 model. This sensor provides precise and accurate readings using a capacitive humidity sensor and thermistor, offering superior performance compared to the DHT11 model.

Measuring temperature and humidity digitally, the AM2301B eliminates the need for analog input pins, simplifying integration into your projects. Data handling is efficient, connecting via a single wire, although each sensor requires a dedicated data pin since it's not Dallas One Wire compatible.

Installation is straightforward with its 3-wire configuration: connect 3-5V power to the red wire, data input to the yellow wire, and ground the black wire. The internal 5.1K resistor means no additional pullup resistors are necessary.

With the capability to report new data every 2 seconds, the AM2301B is suitable for environments requiring ongoing monitoring within a broad temperature and humidity range. Comprehensive resources, including schematics and sample code for Arduino and CircuitPython, are available to assist in seamless integration.
