The Alchitry Au is powered by a Xilinx Artix 7 XC7A35T-1C FPGA with over 33,000 logic cells and 256MB of DDR3 RAM. The board offers 102 3.3V logic level IO pins, 20 of which can be switched to 1.8V, and has nine differential analog inputs. Other features include eight general-purpose LEDs, a 100MHz on-board clock that can be manipulated internally by the FPGA, and a USB-C connector for configuration and power. For data transfer, the board has a USB to serial interface. All Alchitry boards have full Lucid support, a built-in library of useful components for your project, and a debugger.
The Alchitry Au has the ability to expand its hardware capabilities through stackable expansion boards similar to shields or HATs, known as "Elements". By adding these elements, the board can enhance its features by including prototyping spaces, buttons, LEDs, and more. This makes the Alchitry Au a versatile and adaptable tool for any project.
The SparkFun Qwiic Connect System is an ecosystem of I2C sensors, actuators, shields, and cables designed to make prototyping quicker and less error-prone. All Qwiic-enabled boards use a common 1mm pitch, 4-pin JST connector, reducing the amount of required PCB space and ensuring you can’t connect it incorrectly.
The Alchitry Au FPGA Development Board measures 65mm x 45mm and is powered with 5V through a USB-C port, 2.54mm holes, or headers.
