Adafruit QMC5883P - Triple Axis Magnetometer

Description

Sensing magnetic fields becomes effortless with this compact triple-axis magnetometer module. Whether for detecting magnetic north or measuring diverse magnetic fields, its utility extends across a range of applications. Combined with a 6-DoF accelerometer/gyroscope, it forms a 9-DoF inertial measurement unit for precise orientation detection harnessing Earth's magnetic field.

Powered by the QMC5883P, widely utilized in quadcopters and robotics, this sensor communicates via a simple I2C interface. Effortless connectivity is ensured through the I2C clock and data pins. With a dynamic sensing range of ±2 to ±30 Gauss, it caters to diverse precision needs with its 16-bit ADC and variable sampling settings.

The module is set on a breakout PCB, accommodating 3.3V or 5V logic levels, perfect for common microcontrollers like Raspberry Pi and Arduino. Seamless integration is further supported by SparkFun qwiic and STEMMA QT compatible connectors, eliminating the need for soldering. A variety of QT Cables are available separately, ensuring flexible configurations.

Designed for ease, the module comes fully assembled and tested, with optional 0.1" standard headers for breadboard or perfboard use. Four mounting holes facilitate straightforward attachment, making it a practical addition for any project requiring precise magnetic measurement and orientation capabilities.
