Adafruit NeoPixel Driver BFF Add-On for QT Py and Xiao

Our QT Py boards are ideal for compact microcontroller projects with substantial power, now enhanced by the addition of a NeoPixel strand using a 5V level shifter and a detachable JST PH connector.

Meet the Adafruit NeoPixel Driver BFF, your project's reliable companion. Designed to fit seamlessly onto the back of any QT Py or Xiao board, it can be soldered or attached with pin and socket headers, ensuring flexibility in assembly.

This PCB is equipped with a 74AHCT125 single-gate level shifter that elevates pin A3's output to 5V, utilizing the USB power. It channels this power, ground, and data to a JST PH 2mm 3-pin connector for straightforward NeoPixel connections.

Connect easily with NeoPixel strips featuring JST-PH connectors, offering instant lighting solutions. The NeoPixel Driver BFF is not recommended for powering more than 30-60 NeoPixels directly due to the 2 Amp power limitation of PH connectors.

The package includes a header for soldering to your QT Py. For a removable setup, the Itsy Bitsy short female header kit is available, ensuring compactness. Features like level-shifted data from pin A3, with the ability to solder-jumper select from other pins, offer versatility for driving any WS2812/WS2811/NeoPixel LEDs.
