Bend all audio files to your will with the Adafruit Music Maker FeatherWing. A fun-size version of our Music Maker shield for Arduino, this powerful wing features the VS1053 codec chip, capable of decoding MP3, AAC, Ogg Vorbis, WMA, MIDI, FLAC, WAV (PCM and ADPCM) audio formats.
Effortlessly adjust bass, treble, and volume digitally through a lightweight SPI interface, enabling any Feather Board to play audio from an SD card. Dive into a special MIDI mode, where the chip transforms into a synth/drum machine, offering dozens of built-in drum and sample effects.
Music playback is tested with ATmega32u4, ATSAMD M0, ESP8266, WICED Teensy 3, and nRF52 Feathers. MIDI playback is compatible with all Feathers, though some may require removing the wing during programming. USB-Serial Feathers like ESP8266 and nRF52 will utilize the Serial console for MIDI, which might be confusing.
Specifications include the VS1053B codec chip for decoding a wide range of audio formats, stereo audio output with proper audio filter caps, and a microSD socket for FAT16/FAT32 formatted cards of 64MB or greater. Built-in MIDI synth/drum machine provides a variety of instruments for creating unique sounds.
Each order contains one tested FeatherWing and two sticks of 0.1" male headers for connecting to your Feather Board. Light soldering is needed to attach the through-hole headers. Note that headphones, SD card, and Feather Board are not included.
