Adafruit ItsyBitsy nRF52840 Express - Bluetooth® LE

What's smaller than a Feather but larger than a Trinket? It's the Adafruit ItsyBitsy nRF52840 Express featuring the Nordic nRF52840 Bluetooth LE processor. This microcontroller board is compact yet powerful, with a fast nRF52840 Cortex M4 processor running at 64 MHz and 1 MB of FLASH. Ideal for compact builds, it offers a wealth of memory and Bluetooth LE support. The board supports both Arduino and CircuitPython, enabling you to leverage its BLE capabilities as both a central and peripheral device.

ItsyBitsy nRF52840 Express measures only 1.4 inches long by 0.7 inches wide yet features 6 power pins and 21 digital GPIO pins, 6 of which can be used as analog inputs. It includes 2MB of QSPI Flash for data logging or CircuitPython code. This Itsy ships with an Arduino IDE compatible demo but can easily switch to CircuitPython with just a few clicks. When connected, it appears as a small disk drive with code.py, editable for wireless-enabled projects using Python. No special installations or compilers are needed, making it accessible on any computer.

Notable features include a native open-source USB stack, floating-point support, a 3.3V logic power pin, and Bluetooth Low Energy compatibility. There are 21 GPIO pins, 6 x 12-bit ADC pins, and up to 12 PWM outputs for extensive peripheral interaction. The special Vhigh output pin enables operations with NeoPixels and other 5V logic devices, while the native USB supports a variety of uses, like USB serial, HID devices, and as a tiny disk drive. With its pre-installed UF2 bootloader, programming is as easy as dragging firmware onto the drive.
