The INA237 is a remarkable power monitoring chip designed for precision and flexibility. Supporting up to 85VDC common-mode voltage, it offers high or low side measurements with a 16-bit ADC, capturing everything from milliamps to amps.
Features include an I2C interface for simple alert configuration, gain adjustments, and oversampling. It is compatible with both CircuitPython and Arduino, as well as single board computers like Raspberry Pi. With a 3V or 5V logic compatibility, it measures bus voltages up to +85VDC. Please note, it is not suitable for AC voltages.
This 15 milliohm, 0.1% shunt resistor equipped breakout excels at maintaining accuracy, with the ability to measure +85V at up to 10A or 2.75A continuously on both high and low sides. Its precise 16-bit ADC allows for 0.15mA or 42uA LSB resolution, making it an essential tool for any project requiring reliable current measurement.
Installation is straightforward. The INA237 breakthrough, requiring minimal soldering, comes equipped with a 3.5mm terminal block and header. It features SparkFun qwiic-compatible STEMMA QT connectors for streamlined I2C bus integration—making soldering redundant. Simply use a STEMMA QT adapter cable to connect to your micro. The device can host up to four sensors on one bus via address jumpers, expanding its application scope significantly.
