Round displays bring a refreshing twist with a unique 1.28" diagonal TFT boasting a high density of 220 ppi and 240x240 pixel RGB display. Its full-angle viewing fits snugly into small electronic devices, making it perfect for applications like smartwatches.
Unlike many MIPI interfaces, this display offers an SPI interface with a user-friendly display driver that ensures seamless compatibility with any microcontroller or microcomputer. It's equipped with a pixel-addressable frame buffer, allowing even microcontrollers with limited memory and pins to utilize it effectively.
The 1.28" display uses an IPS panel, providing vibrant 16-bit full-color pixels with excellent visibility up to 80 degrees off axis. Powered by the GC9A01A TFT driver, it is similar to the popular ST7789, and an accompanying Arduino library supports seamless integration.
For ease of use, this breakout includes a 3.3V regulator, auto-reset circuitry, a 3/5V level shifter, and a microSD card holder for easy bitmap loading. An 18-pin "EYESPI" standard FPC connector is included, facilitating connections without the need for soldering.
The display comes with versatile software support—an open-source graphics Arduino library for drawing and example codes, and a Python library compatible with Raspberry Pi. For CircuitPython, a displayio driver offers native support, expanding its usability across various platforms.
