
Ever wanted to feel like Magneto? Now you sort of can! Bring ferromagnetic objects under your control with an electromagnet. This device engages with a solenoid and a current to magnetize. Simply power it with about 5VDC and transform it into a magnet. When the power is off, it returns to being a non-magnetic piece of metal.
You'll need a motor or solenoid driver with kick-back protection, such as our Crickit boards, to use the electromagnet. It features a holding force of 10 Kg/22 lb, but can typically lift only around 2 Kg/4 lb depending on surface and metal type.
Ensure optimal results by using objects with flat surfaces and high ferromagnetic metal content. Note that rounded or non-metallic coated items are less effective. Though some may list a higher holding force like 15 Kg, we specify a reliable 10 Kg minimum, maintaining consistent dimensions and power usage.
