Drown out the voices in your head with a bone conduction transducer! This incredible speaker does not have a moving cone like most speakers you've seen. Instead, it utilizes a small metal rod wrapped with the voice coil.
When current pulses through the coil, the magnetic field causes a piece of metal to expand and contract. If pressed against a flat surface or cavity, it transforms the surface into a speaker! Position it against your jaw or ear bone to convert your skull into a speaker cavity. The result is excellent sound quality that seems to originate from within, audible only to you.
For more fun, press it against your elbow bone and place a finger in your ear to witness sound traversing your arm. No air is needed, making it ideal for waterproof 'underwater' headphones for swimmers when covered in plastic. Also, try using it against a table or wall to create a flat speaker or at the tip of a plastic cup to direct sound precisely.
For prolonged contact with skin, it's advisable to cover the transducer and wire connections with a material like Sugru. This prevents accidental shorting of the driver current through the skin due to sweat and electrolyte accumulation. Lightweight and compact, this transducer has an 8-ohm impedance and should operate at approximately 1W. It pairs excellently with audio amps, such as the TS2012 breakout or MAX98306.
Simply connect it as you would any other speaker; it even includes pre-soldered wires for convenience.
