Adafruit Tough Relay from Digital Loggers

Tough Relay seamlessly merges several essential power management features into one compact DIN package. It functions as a durable power relay, AC current monitor, circuit breaker, energy logger, power meter, and event scheduler. Stand-alone or microprocessor-connected use is possible via serial I/O.

This versatile device features a rugged SPDT power relay rated for both AC and DC with large contacts, a 12A fuse, and a software-managed circuit breaker. It serves as a delay relay, circuit breaker, and voltage/current monitor, supporting universal power inputs from 5-24VDC with minimal energy consumption of approximately 1W.

The built-in AC ammeter provides precise energy monitoring while ADC inputs allow triggering of the relay or external DC voltage measurements. It includes a real-time clock with a battery for scheduling tasks and an RS-232/TTL serial output for streaming data such as histograms and status reports to a host processor. Long-lasting non-volatile FRAM memory ensures log storage for efficient power management.
