Adafruit Thermocouple Type-K Glass Braid Insulated Stainless Steel Tip

Thermocouples excel in measuring temperatures that soar above 100°C, ideal for environments like heaters and ovens. This model features a bare wires stainless-steel tip, optimal for air or surface measurements.

While most thermocouples have a vinyl covering that succumbs around 200°C, this variant utilizes a fiberglass braid, enabling use in high-temperature applications. The design includes a 2 cm stainless steel probe, color-coded wires extending 1 meter (over 3 feet), and a small heat shrink on the wire ends to prevent fraying.

The K type thermocouple, intended for temperatures up to 500°C (900°F), integrates well with thermocouple amplifiers like MAX31855, AD8495, or MAX31856. Note, its tip being electrically connected makes it unsuitable for conductive materials with potential electric charge.
