Thermocouples excel in measuring temperatures that soar above 100°C, ideal for environments like heaters and ovens. This model features a bare wires stainless-steel tip, optimal for air or surface measurements.
While most thermocouples have a vinyl covering that succumbs around 200°C, this variant utilizes a fiberglass braid, enabling use in high-temperature applications. The design includes a 2 cm stainless steel probe, color-coded wires extending 1 meter (over 3 feet), and a small heat shrink on the wire ends to prevent fraying.
The K type thermocouple, intended for temperatures up to 500°C (900°F), integrates well with thermocouple amplifiers like MAX31855, AD8495, or MAX31856. Note, its tip being electrically connected makes it unsuitable for conductive materials with potential electric charge. Tutorials are available to guide through both CircuitPython and Arduino integration.
