This mini HDMI decoder board is incredibly compact and versatile, functioning as an all-in-one display driver for TTL displays or for unique HDMI/DVI video projects. Its core is the TFP401, a robust DVI/HDMI decoder that proficiently handles resolutions up to 1080p without HDCP.
While primed for 800x480 displays, this board includes crucial components like a backlight driver for basic TTL display panels. It supports USB power, making it convenient for integration with single board computers, such as Raspberry Pi or BeagleBone Black. The touch edition of the board even features an AR1100 USB touch screen driver, acting as a USB mouse on major operating systems.
The board facilitates low-current operations. For instance, with a 5" 800x480 display and 50mA backlight current, it totals 500mA current use, which can be lowered by adjusting the backlight. Dimensions fit snugly within enclosures and it's compatible with 4.3", 5.0", or 7.0" displays, with recommendations for the 5" or 7".
EDID programming is easy through our Arduino examples, or Linux systems can force specific resolutions. Additional resources cover backlight tuning and resolution adjustments. Note, no display is included with purchase.
