The Teensy 3.6 (with headers) is a small development board armed with a 32 bit 180 MHz ARM Cortex-M4 processor. Where the Arduino lacks in memory and processing power, this board offers the ideal solution. The Teensy development boards can even be programmed with Arduino code by downloading the TeensyDuino addon for the Arduino IDE.
Just like the Arduino Leonardo, the processor on the Teensy has direct access to the USB port, allowing the Teensy to emulate any USB device, such as a mouse, keyboard or MIDI device. The 32-bit, 180MHz processor (MK66FX1M0VMD18) also adds some functionalities, such as Direct Memory Access, a number of high-resolution ADCs and an I2S digital audio interface. The processor also contains 4 interval timers and a delay timer. The 42 I / O channels all have the ability to trigger an interrupt and operate at 3.3V ( Beware! These pins are not 5V tolerant ).
The Teensy 3.6 also contains a micro SD card socket, 1M Flash memory, 256K RAM and 4K EEPROM.
