The Teensy 3.2 is a small development board armed with a 32 bit 72 MHz ARM Cortex-M4 processor. Where the Arduino lacks in memory and processing power, this board offers the ideal solution. The Teensy development boards can even be programmed with Arduino code by downloading the TeensyDuino addon for the Arduino IDE.
Just like the Arduino Leonardo, the processor on the Teensy has direct access to the USB port, so that the Teensy can emulate any USB, such as a mouse, keyboard or MIDI device. The 32-bit, 180MHz processor (MK20DX256VLH7) also adds some functionalities, such as Direct Memory Access, a number of high-resolution ADCs and an I2S digital audio interface. The processor also contains 4 interval timers and a delay timer. The 62 I / O channels all have the ability to trigger an interrupt, operate at 3.3V and are 5V tolerant.
The difference between the Teensy 3.1 and 3.2 is only the voltage regulator. The 3.2 controller can supply more power to add-on boards.
