Adafruit Square Force-Sensitive Resistor (FSR)

FSRs are sensors that allow you to detect physical pressure, squeezing, and weight, offering simple use at a low cost. The Alpha MF02A-N-221-A01 FSR features a 38mm square sensing region.

While these sensors can measure pressure, they cannot pinpoint where it's applied on the square, unlike ribbon soft pots or capacitive touch pads. Their resistance varies by about 10%, meaning they're best suited for detecting ranges rather than precise measurements.

The plastic composition of FSRs makes their connection tabs delicate. Ideal connections include breadboards, clamp-style connectors such as alligator clips, or terminal blocks. Soldering is possible but requires precision to avoid damage.
