The ProtoShield Kit stands out for its unique solderable-like breadboard prototyping area. Half of this area is designed with a breadboard in mind, with open jumper pads between each through hole on the shield's underside. This allows for easy connections, similar to a breadboard. Once a component is added, a solder jumper can be added between holes to create a connection. For those who prefer standard prototyping pads, the other side of the shield (near the BlueSMiRF and Serial UART ports) has been left as is.
The prototype testing components have been moved off the main shield and onto a removable, ProtoSnap styled PCB. This test area includes soldering areas for two yellow 3mm LEDs, two 330 Ohm resistors, a 10K Ohm resistor, and a pushbutton. Please note, this product requires assembly and a basic knowledge of soldering as it does not come pre-assembled.
