SparkFun LuMini LED Matrix - 8x8 (64 x APA102-2020)

The 8x8 SparkFun LuMini LED Matrix is a compact, vibrant display of 64 individually addressable LEDs. Each LED can produce a stunning array of 16 million colors, offering a versatile and dynamic square of light for any project. The LuMini is a miniaturized version of Sparkfun's Lumenati LED line. Instead of 5mm by 5mm APA102 LEDs, LuMini uses 2mm by 2mm package (APA102-2020), allowing for impressively tight pixel densities and a less pixelated screen.

The LuMini LED Matrix operates using several solder pads on the back of each board. These pads include 5V and ground, a set for data in and clock input, and another set for data out and clock output. The matrix functions like a string of LEDs, with the LED numbering moving from left to right, bottom to top of the board, on the LED facing side. The LuMini LED Matrix also features four detachable mounting points that can be used to secure your matrix to a surface or project, or broken off to create more intricate designs. If you want to create a larger display, simply solder multiple matrices together!

Note: For larger installations, you may need to add a decoupling capacitor between power and ground to prevent voltage dips when turning on numerous LEDs simultaneously. A 4.7µF capacitor is recommended.
