The main component of the board is a sealed, SPDT 20A/10A Relay. The relay is regulated by 5V logic via a transistor, and an LED indicates when the relay is closed. This kit is provided as through-hole parts, offering an excellent opportunity for soldering practice. The inclusion of screw terminal connectors on both sides of the board ensures easy integration into your project.
The board features robust traces connecting the relay to the load pins. However, the 3-pin terminals have a maximum rating of 15A. For larger loads, direct soldering to the board is necessary. As with all high current and voltage applications, safety is paramount. Always use your judgement when determining the load to put on a board. In open airflow, the PCB can handle the full 20A for short periods, but heat can accumulate in an enclosed area.
Note: This board is designed for individuals with experience and a good understanding of electricity. If you're not comfortable with soldering or handling high voltage, consider the IoT Power Relay. This is fully enclosed, providing enhanced safety.
