Adafruit Sewable Electroluminscent (EL) Wire Welted Piping- Aqua 5 meters

EL Wire, or Electroluminescent Wire, offers a unique and energy-efficient way to illuminate your projects. Coated with phosphor and encased in a clear PVC sheath, it emits an aqua glow similar to thin neon when connected to an AC power source.

With a standard 2.3mm thickness, it's flexible and retains its shape, making it ideal for creative applications. Use cases include costuming, decorative lighting, safety vests, and vehicle enhancements. Although slightly less bright than LEDs, it consumes significantly less power, making it sustainable for long-term usage.

This 500 cm pre-cut and pre-soldered wire is ready for immediate use with a suitable inverter (not included). It draws 200mA when connected to a 2xAA portable inverter, ensuring approximately 10 hours of continuous light using 2000mAh batteries. For custom setups, it can be cut and resoldered with ease.

Please note, EL wire is not designed for prolonged outdoor use as UV exposure may cause fading. Differences in color and brightness may occur between EL wire, tape, and panels due to varying manufacturing processes.
