Adafruit Rugged Metal On/Off Switch with Green LED Ring

These chrome-plated metal buttons are rugged and look real good while doing it! Simply drill a 16mm hole into any material up to 1/2" thick to fit these securely in place. A rubber gasket ensures water resistance for outdoor or damp environments.

On the front is a flat metal actuator, surrounded by a green plastic LED ring. The button includes 3 contacts for switching (common, normally-open, and normally-closed) and 2 for the LED ring (+ and -). Energize the LED with 3 to 6V directly, as it features a built-in resistor. For higher voltages like 12V or 24V, integrate a 470 ohm resistor in series to maintain a 20mA LED current.

Functioning as an on/off switch, pressing the button shorts the 'normally-open' contact to the common, activating a stay-pressed position. Press again to release and open the contacts. Independently wired, the switch and LED offer flexibility: illuminate when pressed, or light up on release—the choice is yours!
