Power over Ethernet (PoE) can revolutionize your project setup by streamlining power and data into a single Ethernet cable. Attach standoffs to the HAT's corners, then connect to the 40-pin header for effortless power delivery through the RJ-45 network connector.
Compatible with Raspberry Pi 3 B+ featuring PoE pins and Raspberry Pi 4. The Raspberry Pi itself is not included. Not suitable for the CM4 carrier board or Raspberry Pi 5.
For Pi 3 B+ users, a bit of tape on the HDMI connector can prevent potential short circuits due to variances in standoff and capacitor height. This is not an issue with Pi 4. If additional space is desired, a socket riser (PID 4079) can be used between the Pi and HAT/Bonnet.
Specifications include IEEE 802.3at-2009 standard, 37–57 V DC input voltage, and 5VDC/4A output power. It features a 25mm x 25mm brushless fan delivering 2.2 CFM for cooling, and operates efficiently in temperatures from 0°C to +50°C. The device offers a fully isolated switched-mode power supply and fan control.
For setups without Pi 3 B+ or Pi 4, or if a HAT cannot be used, the PoE to MicroUSB splitter is available, compatible with any device powered by Micro USB.
