The PCA9846 Qwiic Mux is a compact device, housed on a 2.54cm x 2.54cm PCB. It features four multiplexed Qwiic ports, as well as main In and Out connections. A standout feature is the "Who Am I" product identification register, which simplifies detection in auto-detect DataLogger / OpenLog applications.
Sparkfun has developed a dedicated Arduino Library for the PCA9846, ensuring you can start using it as quickly as possible. The Sparkfun Qwiic Connect System is a versatile ecosystem of I2C sensors, actuators, shields, and cables designed to make prototyping faster and less error-prone. All Qwiic-enabled boards use a common 1mm pitch, 4-pin JST connector, saving PCB space and ensuring foolproof connections.
The PCA9846 Qwiic Mux features a 2.54cm x 2.54cm PCB with standoff mounting holes, main In and Out Qwiic connections, four multiplexed Qwiic ports, and a configurable I2C address (0x70 - 0x77 unshifted, default 0x70). It supports both 100kHz and 400kHz clock speeds and includes 2.54mm-spaced breakout holes for Power, I2C, and Reset. It also has a power LED and a full set of 2.2K pull-up resistors, both of which are configurable. The supply voltage ranges from 1.65V (Min) to 3.3V (Max), with Qwiic operating at 3.3V only.
Supporting documents for the PCA9846 Qwiic Mux include a schematic, dimensions, Arduino Library, code examples, hardware repo, address configuration, and the PCA9846 datasheet.
