Piunora by Diode Delights is a compact development board crafted for seamless electronics prototyping on Linux. With a familiar form factor and clear pin labels, it fits perfectly in space-constrained environments. This carrier board for the Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4 (CM4) effectively miniaturizes the Raspberry Pi 4 Single Board Computer, enhancing versatility for custom form factors.
Piunora operates well with software designed for the Raspberry Pi 4, provided it accommodates the hardware peripherals. For added reliability, CM4 versions with eMMC memory replace traditional SD cards.
Impressive peripherals power this small device, such as an Arduino UNO R3 compatible 3.3 V logic form factor, and PCI-e through an M.2 B-Key connector featuring a dedicated 3.3 V / 3 A supply. Integration is streamlined with a Qwiic/Stemma QT connector for easy I²C device interfacing.
Efficiently switching between USB host and device mode, the device boasts a full-sized HDMI 2.0 port and a user status WS2812 Smart RGB LED. Depending on CM4 choice, Wi-Fi and eMMC options are available. Despite a slim profile, with Piunora Lite at 8-12 mm, the device accommodates two user-controllable buttons, including a safe-shutdown button software.
While the Pi 4 Compute Module isn't included, the open hardware's design files and software will be fully published upon shipment, broadening possibilities for creative and technical endeavors.
