The PiJuice HAT is a compact, self-powered solution that ensures your Raspberry Pi is always up and running. It is a fully uninterruptible power supply HAT that enables you to take your Pi off the grid and make it portable. It is one of the smallest systems around, opening up a world of possibilities for your Raspberry Pi projects.
The PiJuice HAT is equipped with PiAnywhere technology, an onboard real-time clock (RTC), and an integrated microcontroller (MCU) chip. The RTC keeps your Pi updated about the time even without power input or internet connection. The MCU chip manages soft shut down functionality, a true low power deep sleep state, and intelligent startup, ensuring your Pi is always ready for use.
With two built-in RGB LEDs, you can always keep track of the charge levels and other info. The three programmable buttons allow you to trigger events and scripts. The PiJuice uses up to just five of your GPIO pins (just power and I2C), leaving the rest free for your project. The stacking header enables you to use your existing HATs and add-ons with the PiJuice.
Note: The instructions specify to attach a pogo pin for the wake function, but it doesn't line up with the Raspberry Pi 3B+. A bodge wire can be added for the functionality of the pin; however, the manufacturer recommends powering the PiJuice directly, bypassing the need for the pogo pin.
