Explore the versatility and convenience of controlling up to 16 servos or LEDs with our 16-channel PWM/Servo controller. This module, utilizing the I2C interface, is based on the PCA9685 servo controller from Adafruit and closely resembles the well-known Adafruit 16-Channel 12-bit PWM/Servo Driver - I2C interface - PCA9685.
This compact module boasts a multitude of exciting specifications. Both the Vcc pin and the signal pins can handle a voltage of 3 to 5V, while the maximum voltage for the V+ pin is 6V when connected via the terminal block. The resolution of the PWM signals is an impressive 12 bits, providing you with unparalleled precision in your projects.
With six soldering points, you can set the I2C address in as many as 62 different ways. And it doesn't stop at 16 devices: this module can be daisy-chained to manage up to 992 outputs via the I2C interface!
Safety is also a key aspect of this product. With the reverse polarity protection on the V+ pin, you can build your projects with confidence, although the maximum current that can run through the terminal block is limited to 500mA. For easy mounting, four 3mm holes are provided, and we also supply various male pin headers along with a terminal block.
Please note that the design of this module is based on an older Adafruit design where the transistor for polarity protection is relatively small. If you are using a combination of servos that together consume more than 500mA, you should use the V+ header pins on the sides to power the servos. If the current significantly exceeds 500mA for an extended period, the transistor on the module can burn out. This, however, does not detract from the incredible versatility and power of this module!
