This warm-white glowy number is crafted from COB LEDs, reminiscent of classic Edison-style bulbs, designed in varied patterns for a bright and welcoming light. The arrangement consists of multiple micro LED diodes bonded on a sturdy metal base, encased in silicone for protection.
Despite LEDs being mounted on one side, the thin PCB substrate emits a faint glow on the reverse too. Only 3V is necessary to power them, and including a resistor to cap the current at 100mA is advised. These robust lights are rigid but emit a consistent glow, effectively mimicking vintage tungsten filaments.
Lightweight and versatile, they attach easily to surfaces, fabric, or even suspended using fishing line. Each functions as a single extended LED, making them simple to dim via PWM. Connect them to a 3V power source at both ends, bearing in mind the cathode is marked with a minus sign. If it doesn’t illuminate immediately, just reverse the connection.
