The Adafruit NeoKey 1x4 QT I2C Breakout is a versatile PCB designed for custom keyboard projects, allowing the integration of four mechanical keys with a dazzling array of LED options. This compact 3" x 0.8" board is engineered to fit Cherry MX or compatible switches and connects easily via a STEMMA QT (Qwiic) connector for seamless I2C connectivity.
Built for flexibility, the board features Kailh sockets for plug-and-play switch mounting, complemented by reverse-mount NeoPixels for dynamic lighting under each key. The embedded microcontroller, pre-loaded with seesaw firmware, enables I2C management of button presses and NeoPixel illumination.
Arduino and CircuitPython/Python libraries support quick macropad creation, and the breakout boards can be placed onto a breadboard for extended usage options. Configure up to 16 boards on a single I2C bus by daisy-chaining and adjusting the I2C address jumpers. Soldering is essential for header and multi-board connections. Note: keys, keycaps, and microcontrollers are not included but can be customized to suit any project.
